State Delivered Kindergarten Enrolments
SDK programs ensure all children have access to a quality kindergarten program in the year before school, no matter where they live. To participate in SDK, a child must turn 4 by 30 June in the year they attend. There is no opportunity for early entry into the Kindergarten program. To enrol a child, parents and caregivers are provided with an enrolment package. The enrolment package includes information about the school’s enrolment form (PDF, 5.5MB) External link, Responsible behaviour plan for students and school prospectus. Parents or carer's complete an application for enrolment, and must provide the following information:
- proof of date of birth (birth certificate, transfer certificate)
- parent Medicare card.
Please submit these forms as well as any additional documentation (e.g. Immunisation History Statement and medical management plan if required) to the school to secure a place for your child in the kindergarten program.

When considering enrolling your child at Dunkeld State School, please contact the school to make an appointment.

Please complete the enrolment form from the link above and ensure you have all the required documents and/or information with you to enable a smooth enrolment. These include:
- Birth certificate
- Enrolment details of previous schools
- Contact details
- International status – Passport and Visa details if not an Australian citizen
- Medical details

Contact details
There are times when we may need to contact parents and carers. Do we have your most up to date contact details? If not, please contact the school so we can update our records. These details include parent/carers’ name, address, phone numbers, email address and emergency contact details.
Please remember to contact the school if any of these details change.
Absence notification process
Please remember to call the school early in the morning if your child is going to be away or late for school so your child’s absence can be recorded correctly.
Same day notification
Our school will contact parents as soon as practicable on the day if a student is not at school and we don’t know why. If you are advised by the school that your child is away without a reason, please conatct us as soon as possible to let us know where your child is.
We will follow-up with parents if no response is received.
